A little about me
My name is Cherita and I am the owner of Moon Child Sweets; a home based bakery in New Castle, Delaware. Also the author of this new foodie blog Moon Child Eats! I currently am working on building my empire (in my evil villain voice)!!! I’m old but not old enough to retire apparently, lol! I’m currently the girl working several jobs, only one of which I have a true passion for in life.
Education
I was born in Chester, Pennsylvania but have always went to school in Delaware. I graduated high school from Hodgson Vocational Technical High School. Furthering my education I then moved to Rhode Island where I attended Johnson & Wales University and received my bachelors degree in Baking & Pastry Arts. I have worked in several restaurants in Delaware and Pennsylvania since I started working at the age of 16. I have worked front of the house and back of the house positions and they all suck at times but the restaurant industry is my true love! I’ve worked with many chefs throughout the years and learned some awesome techniques and recipes along the way. Hey, when you work the cold station you have plenty of downtime in the middle so why not learn a thing or two.
Why did I decide to start Moon Child Eats???
I decided to write my blog Moon Child Eats because I love food!!! I love to cook it and eat it so why not share my love with the world! Along the way I’ll tell you about some things I’m cooking in my own kitchen. I’ll also tell you about some things I’m baking at Moon Child Sweets.When I come across some great recipes I’ll definitely share them as well. Don’t think that I would forget to share my experiences at various restaurants that I visit throughout my travels. Feel free to comment or ask questions!
